Duration: One day
Ethics and Values is a module that explores where our ethics and values originated. Values drive behavior, understanding the values of an individual, leads to an understanding of their behavior resulting in acceptance and tolerance. It is imperative in the workplace to understand where one’s values are to understand one’s behavior.
MAJOR COURSE OBJECTIVES
The course is designed to enable participants to:
- Participate in team exercises to determine ethical outcomes for various scenarios
- Complete Ethical Style questionnaire to determine one’s own ethical style
- Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the various ethical styles and how each affects the workplace
- Discuss tough choices when presented with ethical situations in the workplace
- Examine six core ethical values that are internationally accepted
- Examine individually and in groups a value-based class scenario that demonstrates what drives one’s choices
- Analyze where one’s own stereotyping and assumptions originated
Participants completing this workshop will gain or enhance their skills in:
- Understanding their ethical styles and why they respond as they do to certain situations
- Exploring the six core ethical values based on Josephson’s findings, shared globally
- Understanding what drives their behavior and others’ behaviors which encourages acceptance of differing behaviors
